  1. 3: Disco. I was a good-looking young man. I was a great dancer. I was always on the prowl. It was like Disco was made for me. I never bought a Disco record. I never listened to it at home. But in a club it was fantastic!

2: The Bee Gees. We were supposed to hate the Bee Gees, so I did. I was more of a Little Feat, CSN&Y, Joni Mitchell guy. Then years later I bought a Best of the Bee Gees CD at a yard sale for fifty cents. Amazing song after amazing song after amazing song.

1: The Monkees. I unabashedly, un-ironically LOVE The Monkees. My favorite band ever. Mickey Dolenz is the most underrated pop singer ever. Last Train to Clarksville is one of the greatest Rock & Roll songs of all time.

    1. I would LOVE to hear or read an account of your days going to the disco. Please publish that memoir and/or blog. Get Down!

  2. "Superstar" is such a great song. It was written by Leon Russell and Bonnie Bramlett. It's original working title was "The Groupie Song" because, of course, it's sung from the perspective of a groupie.
