Is Rock And Roll Dead? No. It Just Smells Bad

Check out this article I wrote for Anorak.  I feel pretty strongly about it, but I'm sure there will be plenty that disagree.  Please leave a comment over at the Anorak site - I'd love to hear from you over there!

  1. I don't think Rock N' Roll is dead....it may be on life support though, but certainly not dead! I have a 13 year old nephew who absolutely loves classic rock and will only listen to the likes of the Beatles, Rolling Stones, The Who, etc... Hopefully there are more young kids out there like him, who love good old classic rock!

There will probably always be people, kids included, who listen to and love the greats of rock and roll's past. That's not what the author meant though.

Live concert ticket sales have gone through the roof in pricing since they were sponsored by the beer industry. There's a lot of bands that I would love to see, but simply can't afford tickets or am unwilling to shell out that kind of money for tickets. Thanks, Ticketmaster :(

Also, EDC rakes in MILLIONS of dollars $$$$! So, obviously these kids ARE willing to shell out the big bucks for a lost weekend in Vegas or Orlando.
Just how do these DJs rake in millions anyway when they are ripping off someone else's material? I dunno...

  4. very educational and informative to me for my short movie film.
